We have that too - it's called passive voice, and is standard in academic writing. We have jews to thank for that, btw, as it was (((their))) research which proved that we think in the same language we speak (as good or bad as it happens to be, this is a natural ramification of the Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis).
E.g: "I performed this test" (active voice) becomes "tests were performed" (passive voice). It removes the actor.
