It's a real theory for sure but it doesn't work out in real life. All the bullshit about people believing in a flat earth until recent times is just that. Bullshit. In sailing days you literally had to understand the Earth was a globe or you couldn't navigate. Put a flat earther on a sailboat and give him a sextant. Let him figure it out.
