Agreed on the mouth piece. If they were going to only use one piece of protection I would have gone for the mouthpiece over the gloves. Even with a mouthpiece Ive taken some hits that made my TMJ joints ache for days. A broken hand is no joke, but a broken jaw is orders of magnitude worse. Boxing is all experience. The first few times are a good lesson. He never really loosened up, and even the KO punch seemed kind of hesitant, dude must hit like a hammer. Once he gets some experience he will get better, but from experience big guys are not good at prolonged fights, if it goes more than a round or two it usually turns into a shitshow with two gassed fighters hanging on each other throwing half assed punches.
