I just saw a WSJ article on Instagram saying there were 500K surplus deaths this year.

Total deaths? Because they bump up the numbers otherwise everywhere they can. I'd suggest total deaths should also be up considering the increase in suicides, things like car accidents are also up because the streets are empty so people are less careful. There's a lot of reasons why total deaths should be up but that isn't what I'm seeing.

500K out of a population of how many? Where?
