There's also a novel by Dean Koontz in which something like "Covid20" does pretty much exactly what we are seeing now. It was written in the 80s, IIRC.

I'm sure there are hundreds of things like this, if we were to go back over the last few years of media, where you'd see little hints like this. The question then becomes "Is confirmation bias making me see this? Or is this reality?" I always struggle in that mindframe.
