No, don't tell me you forgot to save?
It would be their right to protest, on public property, my front yard is not public property so people are more than welcome to protest me if they feel called to do so. I do have an idea of how I would respond to the press, however I also know they will cut it up and make me appear to be some kind of monster. I'm not but I think you already know that. I'm just a guy that wants to make sure the world has freedom of speech in another 10 years.
On using liberty or freedom to hurt other people, thats where I draw the line. I like the phrase sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me. There is a line between speech and physical violence. Violence is not speech. If someone wants to stand outside my house all day and yell I'll film it and laugh my ass off about it. If some reporter wants to slander me let them. It doesn't hurt me. I never really planned to make a lot of money working for someone else so good luck hurting my job prospects. As for destroying my reputation no matter what happens my family loves me and understands what I am doing. If someone wants to distance themselves from me because I support free speech is that really someone I wanted in my life to begin with?
Harming someone threatening to hurt me or my family would not be antithetical if it was a legitimate threat. If someone is standing in front of me pointing a gun at me and my family saying I'm going to shoot you and your family that isn't protected speech. I will absolutely shoot them first if I'm able. My hope is even if a protest happens I'll be able to use my patented go to kill them with kindness technique as I don't hate anyone, I just disagree with many people. Example I've had the vegan argument thrown at me many many times since I started this website and I simply don't agree they some valid points and I can admit that but I personally don't agree with their stance. I don't silence them I let them say what they want I've even argued one live on the podcast and I was respectful and allowed them to speak. However knife to my throat telling me to go vegan or else isn't speech.
I think this may be the first time we have interacted with you sober. I too look forward to when I no longer have to be sober today.
I'm a bit baffled as to how you went from my saying 'people protesting' to there being a legitimate threat that justifies you engaging in physical violence. I'm not sure how you made that leap of logic - but that's up to you to decide.
From my perspective, it looks like you're amending your first statement.
Which is NOT a bad thing. In fact, only idiots don't adjust their arguments when flaws are pointed out.
Good job.
And no...
No, the mass of words is actually saved. It's just interspersed with vast amounts of personal information that I don't feel like disclosing at large.
Some people know the story. Voat (or Poal) do not. Some people on those sites know the story. I email a surprisingly large number of goats (some are also on Poal or Phuks). Well, I find it surprising. I have email addresses, and communicate with some regularity, with dozens of 'em.
I was expecting that number to be zero.
Well I went there for a reason, the only reason I would limit speech in any capacity is due to a legitimate threat, and that would be my concern with a protest and my only concern if they are peaceful let them protest. I adjust my arguments and positions all the time, I am quite fallible being a mere mortal and all.
Well thats good it is saved I hate it when I accidentally lose something I've worked hard on.
Well I look forward to reading said story.
I'm a bit confused on the last statement you expected the number of email addresses to be zero or the number of goats you email with to be zero?
Also have I not gained worthiness of an email address yet? I'm offended REEE.
LOL Your first statement did not include the caveat that they'd have to break the law before you did something that put you in prison. It was simply that you'd probably then go to prison 'cause people protested.
I can only read what you say.
Also, I'm 99.9% positive I've given you my email address before. I'm pretty sure that I have? I'm pretty sure I offered it when you were first thinking about starting this site.
Alright, so I'm only actually about 80% confident! I kinda remember it, but I'm not completely positive if I actually did it - but I'm positive that it crossed my mind and pretty sure that I shared it. Pretty sure...
Alright, maybe 60% confident!
My public email address: <uninvolved@outlook.com>
I have a variety of email addresses, each for a specific purpose. That's my public email address and it gets checked fairly frequently. I have no concerns with sharing that address in public.
And, I expected the total number of goats that I'd email to number zero. I expected zero goats to give me their email address. I expected to communicate off-site with exactly none.
I actually have quite a few emails, phone numbers, and even physical addresses.
There's a few surprising developments that I'd not expected, and that's one of them. I'm usually not too terrible when it comes to predicting the future, based on logic and understanding of history.
Another one would be that I had absolutely no idea that the guitar site would be this popular - or that I'd write this much for it. I fully expected it to have fewer than a half-dozen posts before I abandoned it. I absolutely never expected that I'd end up doing daily articles.
I love surprises!
