Nah, detestable, degenerate, and deplorable are allowed in the US!

At least for now!

They're just going to find your address and publicly shame you, ruin your job prospects, and maybe even have a street demonstration outside your house!

Well the prison time will come after the demonstration I imagine. In all honesty I don't think at this point poal is big enough anyone would care, and even if they did I think the way forward is just to point out that the alternative view to freedom of speech is to point out that the alternative keeps the radical evil degenerate people hidden.

Yeah, you should probably have already started figuring out how you'll respond to the press.

By the way, your comment about prison after they protest - their protest would also be a form of speech. Harming them would be antithetical.

Yes, even people who are undermining liberties deserve their liberties.

It's kind of amusing, in a childlike way, when I see people try to use Socrates as an example.

Socrates' big thing was actually pretty much, "If we allow freedom, what do we do when people would use that freedom to hurt us."

The gist being that they should take away people's liberties and revert to an authoritative State.

They killed him.

Socrates was a coward. With freedom (not to be mistaken for liberty - but with liberty as well) comes risk. I support liberty, because I am not a coward.

To put that into an example, there is no magic number of gun-related fatalities that would make me want to cede my right to bear arms. There's no amount of fatalities that would make me want to take your right to bear arms. I am not a coward.

If you'd like an exercise, keep in mind that I'm currently remarkably sober and recall that I probably have a reason for typing that.

LOL For reasons, I've not yet smoked pot today. It's a lot of damned reasons. TheBuddha has obligated himself to do stuff! It's just such a damned long subject that I've not bothered to get into it. It's like 10,000 words. I know, 'cause I already wrote 'em once!

No, don't tell me you forgot to save?

It would be their right to protest, on public property, my front yard is not public property so people are more than welcome to protest me if they feel called to do so. I do have an idea of how I would respond to the press, however I also know they will cut it up and make me appear to be some kind of monster. I'm not but I think you already know that. I'm just a guy that wants to make sure the world has freedom of speech in another 10 years.

On using liberty or freedom to hurt other people, thats where I draw the line. I like the phrase sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me. There is a line between speech and physical violence. Violence is not speech. If someone wants to stand outside my house all day and yell I'll film it and laugh my ass off about it. If some reporter wants to slander me let them. It doesn't hurt me. I never really planned to make a lot of money working for someone else so good luck hurting my job prospects. As for destroying my reputation no matter what happens my family loves me and understands what I am doing. If someone wants to distance themselves from me because I support free speech is that really someone I wanted in my life to begin with?

Harming someone threatening to hurt me or my family would not be antithetical if it was a legitimate threat. If someone is standing in front of me pointing a gun at me and my family saying I'm going to shoot you and your family that isn't protected speech. I will absolutely shoot them first if I'm able. My hope is even if a protest happens I'll be able to use my patented go to kill them with kindness technique as I don't hate anyone, I just disagree with many people. Example I've had the vegan argument thrown at me many many times since I started this website and I simply don't agree they some valid points and I can admit that but I personally don't agree with their stance. I don't silence them I let them say what they want I've even argued one live on the podcast and I was respectful and allowed them to speak. However knife to my throat telling me to go vegan or else isn't speech.

I think this may be the first time we have interacted with you sober. I too look forward to when I no longer have to be sober today.
