this makes too much damn sense. My grandfather had a 50 lb mallet he named "The Problem Solver" and carried it with him where ever he went and folded metal with it on his anvil. My father could briefly lift it in the prime of his life, but stuck with a 20 lb but did not carry it with him daily. He bought a power hammer to "keep up with dad and his problem solver." Damn thing broke within a decade of use. Meanwhile i work in an office and need help to move granfather's hammer if any leaves blow in around its place.
Grandfather had a bunch of brothers who all were between him and my dad for strength. Lost about half between both world wars, the rest to heart attacks/whisky. The thing that always bothered my dad when he was still around was why wasn't he just as strong as his dad? and why was i even softer than him?
It still won't stop corona though
Hmmmm
You know, schemers
They always make plans, lots of plans, plans within plans, and plans for the plans
And just like you and me, they start with the premise that the "sun will rise" tomorrow. First because statistically there's less than 0.0000000000000001% chances that the sun won't rise, for a reason and another, and second because if you have to take into account such low probabilities for disaster, you can't plan anything, you don't undertake anything. So you start with the premise that the low chance disaster isn't going to happen, and most of the time you're proven right. It's a bet in the end, belief. Belief that you aren't going to "win the jackpot" tomorrow essentially, because chances are too low for that to happen.
And then you "win the jackpot", and it's the oh shit moment, because you didn't plan/prepare for that eventuality
So yeah, they have planned this and that, locked every steps of the way... And then unintended consequences or and then shit happens, and that's it
