It reminds me of people arguing that even though the Vax can cause myocarditis, Covid also can cause myocarditis, so you should get the Vax in order to not get myocarditis, even though you can still get the virus after getting the Vax.

In what world would that not be additive risk?

I had something nasty during that time period. It hit me harder than any other cold I had and changed my sense of smell for the worse.

With a few exceptions, the only people I know who "get the flu" get flu shots.
