So, it isn't really Christian, or even a Church, but the only time I ever really feel God is when I am at an AA meeting. It is the only organization I have ever been a part of that really feels like it embodies the spirit of Jesus Christ. If you look at the 12 steps, alcohol is actually only mentioned once, in the first step. The rest of the steps are about humbling yourself before the Lord (AA refers to it as a higher power, so as not to alienate anyone of any particular faith), ridding yourself of your toxic self-will, asking the Lord to remove your faults, making amends with those you have harmed, and passing the message on to others.
