Oh yeah. I became my own doctor a long time ago. I'm lucky and moved to AZ where we can order a bunch of our own bloodwork, no questions asked. I was able to diagnose and treat my Hashimoto's thyroiditis. I just found a new doc that is way cool and gets a kick out of it and lets me run with stuff (he diagnosed me with some weird vague thing so he can order bloodwork for me and my ins cover it while I experiment on myself).
I'm working on my bf. He was given a host of meds and I was able to prove one of them was complete crap when I begged him to try a fasting experiment...We'll see how long he keeps it up, but I have high hopes just because he is seeing insane results.
Wow , that is awesome. all the best for you and for your bf. In all honesty - no one has more of a vested interest in our good health and care than ourselves.
Since about 2019 (maybe just less than a year before the holo-cov) i also became more proactive in my health care after close to 2 decades of all sorts of big pharma SSRI'S et al (and associated side effects) - went back to basics - healthy food, exercise, good mindset.
Old family doctor is slowly understanding that i'm not appreciative of his 'try this one then' anymore yet he is still resistant to letting me decide what is in my best interest - i'm kind of beholden to seeing him ever month for daily medication but hey such is life - i think he's finally getting over the shock of me dropping 30 kgs since the lockdowns , my blood pressure dropping and stabilizing. chronic depression/ suicidal idealation totally resolving and most physiological markers all showing improvement after dumping multiple of his prescription meds, haha. Buts its all good , Cant teach him new tricks something something.
