May I spend a few minutes to enlighten you on Mormonism that may help you see how these two statements may be contradictory?
- The founders (Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, etc.) loved the ladies. Some liked them rather young.
- Mormonism was created with polygamy being an early adopted tenant of the faith. Like many new religious groups, sex abuse is at the core of it's beginnings.
- In a stable society (not at war), the only way older man can diddle a bunch of young women is to not have young men around.
- It follows ... one of the foundational practices of the religion was to send the young men away with the expectation that some % of the young men would not return.
You can see that the many 'wives' of the main founder (Joseph Smith) get their own . And, here's Brigham Young's . (I know, wikipedia... too lazy to find a better source...)
Point being, the fuckers were raping 14 and 16 year olds under religious pretense.

Well, that really makes a lot of fucked up sense unfortunately. Somehow this meta never comes up when the missionaries come over for their lectures.
Sometimes I get bored and look into local churches as an odd way to get to know the locals in the area. Considering on hitting up a Catholic church now that Mormonism is entirely out of my system
