I think that there is a misunderstanding here, but one which does not change the conclusion. This was a big study with 44,000 people which leads you to conclude it is high powered, but so few study participants caught the coof that the result is not statistically significant. You can't be very sure that the 162 control cases is truly higher than 8 vax cases by way of vax instead of chance.
We are talking risk reduction from 0.73% to 0.03% in the study. Or said differently, 99.27% of unvaxed did not catch covid.
