When I wrote about the vaccines on voat, it was always 96% for the Moderna for the Alpha variant. That still has not changed. What has changed is the virus itself AND the waning immunity from the vaccines (they have a half life that does not last much longer than 2 years for the alpha variant in only 3 months for the omicron variant). The 96% figure comes from their Phase III human trials which lasted 6 months (lots of disinformation about what a Phase III human trial actually is: the primary study portion ended a long time ago but the follow-up, and why Phase III trials stay open for so long, remained open 18 months afterwards).
Also, when I saw all of these news articles about 100% efficacy, I called it out. NO vaccine is 100% effective. All immunity will wane over time no matter what it is. Natural immunity will always be superior than acquired immunity, OBVIOUSLY. But you don't want to try and get natural immunity (meaning, you fought the infection and acquired the immunological markers for the infection) for something like Anthrax.
Someone on here said something about it: 99.9% survival rate and almost all those dying were old folks with multiple comorbidities. It's actually 99.86% but that's close enough. The vaccine should never been pushed on people under 55 who were healthy. Even then, it should have been a choice.
