Like I have been saying since 2020 (on old-vVoat): the vaccines were never able to be long term solutions. They were always temporary measures. As soon as the SARS-CoV-2 mutates enough to bypass immunity, the vaccines become ineffective or less effective.
That's exactly what happened.
Either I'm a prophet of epic proportions or this is just the basics of virology. I wonder which one it is (this is sarcasm)?
