In the wild, giraffes have a life expectancy of about 25 years, but they rarely live that long in captivity, where they are highly prone to health problems and injuries - no captive giraffes have ever been released into the wild. There's a whole bunch of research on behavioural problems in captivity.

Again, I don’t disagree, but at the same time you don’t expect three giraffes to drop dead within a month. I’m not saying it was the vac - especially the one that had a broken leg, but “age related issues” is awfully unspecific.

It's reasonable to speculate that just two unexplained deaths (one was just an injury and later euthanised) where both were liver related, is more likely to be something they both ate and that it was specific to giraffes. "zoo is investigating possible exposure to a toxin or pathogen"
nobody on poal is an expert on giraffe pathology, despite what +10 people will claim in response to this post, a crab died too, but again it was just an injury caused by that giraffe that slipped on a slope
There was a zoo in UK where 57 of their 305 animals died in 2018. Zoos are just shitty places in general
