Business groups have been lobbying for him to wait until after the holidays. The same as United telling its employees they won’t fire anyone on December 8th(yeah January 5th).
It’s being put off until January when businesses can fire people and Biden won’t take the Christmas hit for travel or stores being more short staffed then they already are.

Federal workers have until November 22. Federal contractors have until December 8. Shit is hitting the fan because of those dates regardless of what happens with the 100 employee rule. Biden will be responsible for firing more people than anyone else in our history, and he will have done it a few week before Christmas.

Federal employees still have the cut off for now, either he caves, they cave of they get fired. I doubt it will be more then 3-5% if firings happen just like every other group that’s gotten a mandate.

The purpose is to get people to do what we want and disregard their own safety. If they won't do what we want we'll punish them, but we just want them to jump into a fire when we say jump. The goal isn't punishment--it's compliance.
Workers don't work well when they facing firing in a month. You're not guaranteed to be fired. You'll have to take training that calls you a dumbass and doesn't address any of your concerns before being fired. We'll give your boss time to arrange for your replacement. He won't have to fire you on our timeline, so he can fire you when it's most convenient for the company. Clearly we should start referring to Obama's VP as "Biden the merciful".
