They believe it only so far as they are told to believe the safety of the injections. You're supposed to believe it as well, presenting something like this is against their policy and belief and therefore is insubordination on your part. You're supposed to accept that they're safe and get it because, at least in the USA, you're at the mercy of at-will employment.
