Teachers should be paid more. That said, the teachers we have now are worth about (or less) than they are currently paid. Fire ALL of the teachers. Disband the teachers unions. Hire back teachers are higher salaries, and only those who can demonstrate value at those higher deserving levels. If teaching paid what I make in data and analytics, I’d be a teacher.
