The U.S. House of Representatives voted 357–65 on Wednesday to table a resolution by Representative Nancy Mace (R–SC) calling for the release of records of sexual misconduct investigations involving members of Congress.
Mace’s resolution would have forced the House Ethics Committee to publicly disclose all records about allegations of congressional lawmakers and aides engaging in sexual misconduct or harassment.
The resolution would have required the Ethics Committee to make public, within 60 days, all reports and findings, and to exhibit materials related to sexual misconduct investigations, with personal information of victims redacted.
