From some of the other reading/videos I have seen they basically do this every 4-6 months but this time is "worse" by "a lot".

Apparently they are also dealing with hyper inflation and shops/stores are closing because why sell something today that would be worth more than tomorrow? People are pretty pissed off from what I gather.
