President Trump on Sunday called for Congress to pass the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act that would prohibit states from accepting voter registrations for federal elections without proper ID.

The SAVE Act seeks amend the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 mandating that applicants provide documentary proof of citizenship, such as a U.S. passport, certain military records indicating U.S. birthplace, or a government-issued photo ID paired with a birth certificate or similar document showing U.S. origin.

Trump vocalized his support of the measure while speaking to House Republicans, describing the bill as “common sense” and saying that it has his “total endorsement.”

The president also suggested a minor name change for the proposal, advising lawmakers to consider changing the name to the “SAVE America Act” for added emphasis.

I'm surprised he didn't ask them to call the bill the Trump Saves America Act.

I’m for it as long as we used the current ID system and not have this be a back door grift for digital id.

Real ID is here and can now be expanded for any reason the secretary of whatever says. Too late.

Voter ID is the digital id.

So yes, I agree we need state issued non real ID id for voting. That does not exist.

The gov said realid is not secure a few weeks ago. It took 20 years to implement and now it’s shit?

Seems a Texas judge just blocked the internet if laws. I’m not about promoting porn, and think that it’s it to the parents to be parents. I mean who didn’t steal a playboy when they were a kid.

But I can see the positive but the negative far outweighs.
