What do Jehovah's Witnesses actually believe, other than handing out pamphlets on street corners is an expeditious path to salvation?
VERY long subject. Long story short: They're closer to jews than Christian. To CALL them Christian is an insult to Jesus. Their entire cult is based around decisions and doctrine that is pushed out by the Watchtower Society in Bethel. Mike Winger on jewtube did a great rundown on all the issues with them

Have you ever heard of the 'Burned-over District'?
Not in detail, but I have heard of it in relation to Joseph Smith. He predicted a religious revival at a specific date that did not come to pass until a few decades later. I think I heard Charles Tay Russell had something to do with it as well, but not sure about that
