I wish you the best. It is so hard to find someone that is "real". The one thing I know is always question them, always look up the medications, the side effects, the reactions, everything.

I have had family that a doc tried to give them something that would almost absolutely kill them but didn't bother to read the charts/history.

Remember. Over 70% of all deaths in long term health care (stuff like nursing homes) is caused by med errors. I worked at a place the sold EMARS and trained people on how to use them. From the data I saw alone I would think that its more than 70%.

It's crazy. My bf came home one day from his indian doc (before I started going with him, I didn't know if he'd be okay with it, should have known) with a handful of scripts. I looked through them and she was just ut to kill him. I showed him the stuff that would cause pancreatitis (he's has it from fats bot booze), stuff that will kill his kidneys (he's fat beetus type 2), and some other med that made no sense. I asked him to please look for another doc. He asked me to go with him to the Jew. The new doc said I was right on all counts and would schedule long sessions with us just to chat. I will miss him. He and I disagreed on stuff but we were able to be respectful and he got it. He's doing a family med internship up in Scottsdale so it's too much of a hike. He even out stuff in my chart to get insurance to cover meds I was using off label that I ordered from India. Super cool dude.

My mom instilled a fear of 'white man medicine' in me from childhood. We had Indian with a feather medicine man growing up. He said white man good for broken bones and removing bad parts, keeping you healthy is not their goal. I have always medicated myself and will continue to do so. Jew doc loved what I did with my thyroid and even said he recommended selenium to his other thyroid ladies.
