Funny story, that same rain hit me down in Jersey. Hail, thunder, lightening, and from what I hear a tornado or two. Lost power for a day and a half, couple full trees uprooted, plenty of big branches down. Even had another earthquake the other morning. Glad his pandering went well though, more happy my fish didn't die and that my wife and fresh born boy were comfy in the hospital when it all went down.
Glad your family is safe. Consider looking into some UPS's for the fish and maybe either a multi-fuel generator (and a external plug /w transfer switch) or one of those huge battery packs to keep your refrigerator/freezer running in case of emergency. I know it's not cheep but it is better to have and not need then to need and not have.
