Not sure about ally but Trump wanted him as Speaker - knowing he would further enable the dems to expose their marxist/communist agenda.

I don't think there was any obstacle in getting more money/weapons for the jews no matter which republican became Speaker. Ukraine money/weapons was more challenging. Overall, the (((House))) and (((Senate))) are still very much pro-Israel.
