Upside down logic: if the population installs a representative to bypass a fixed election, is it not a representative democracy?

The RNC has stated that if Trump is blocked they will not participate in the primary and just declare the state for Trump. This puts the dems in the awkward position of needing to hold a fair election to have any chance of primarying Trump.
