This isn't about democracy, it's about ignoring due process. He hasn't been found guilty of or even charged with insurrection. The 14th amendment even in a broad and wrong interpretation doesn't fit until he's convicted of insurrection. The alternative is you can be stripped of your rights via (((strict scrutiny))) by mere allegation that's even before preliminary hearing stage.
