Close the border to everyone. No visas, no asylum, no refugees. All illegals brought cheaply back to the Mexican border and walked across at gunpoint. Shoot to kill for border violators.

Sounds good but "Shoot to kill for border violators." seems pretty harsh, like the Berlin wall between east/west Germany or no mans land in N/S Korea. That would certainly discourage violators and drug runners but so would no more free gibs, no more chance at US citizenship, no more border babies, a completed wall, death to drug smugglers, true application of the law.
