The author is writing in defense of israel. The "wake up" he talks about is one of "muh jews are persecuted"

I like parts of the article myself, actually. I've read the Sowell book the author mentions and agree that it's a great read.

I don't disagree with you.

Yet, OP seems to believe that this article is saying things it is not saying--I assume because of the well-crafted headline.

And I would argue most users who upvoted this post did so after reading the headline and inferring it meant something it did not.
