Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) expressed confidence that he will secure the House speakership on Wednesday, saying he believes he has the votes to do so.
"I feel like we have the votes to do it and not only do it — to do it today, to go upstairs on the House floor, get 218 votes. And then get back to work for the people who elected us," he told Fox News's Lawrence Jones on Wednesday.
