"In the final third of “The Canceling of the American Mind” the authors offer solutions. They call for the reinvigoration of free-speech culture, something 20th-century Americans will remember. Parents should teach the golden rule and a genuine appreciation for viewpoint diversity. Corporate executives should establish free-speech standards, get human resources on board, and, if a controversy blows up, avoid large meetings that might “devolve into browbeating struggle sessions.”" What those authors say SHOULD be is not going to happen. Schools teach there are oppressed kids and to elevate the butt-hurt pocs and lgbtq-trans over others' views and interests. Corporations have DIE training with the underlying premise that you are biased against them and need to walk on eggshells around pocs and lgbtq-trans because they're butt-hurt and their views and interests matter more. Why would THEY/THE LEFT give up schools, corporations, and political power for viewpoint diversity? They'll never believe they should do that. The majority has to take it all back. You can blame both drivers for a car accident and say that BOTH drivers need to obey the law and that it takes 2 to have the accident. But don't go telling me that the driver of the car that was stopped and got rear-ended has fault and needs to sit through training on how not to have an accident, with training led by the drivers that did the rear-ending. It may take 2, but there's ONE person that has the problem.
