This is the government signalling that such a large portion of the population are dependants that by shutting down they can make that portion suffer sufficiently to get them to vote however the politicians want them to vote.

Good point. I had it in my head that the free gibs would end if (((they))) wanted to postpone or stop the 2024 election, or right after Trump won the 2024 election. They certainly could do it sooner in order to blackmail the counyry into mote $$$ for Ukraine.
