Pence is another good recent one, but I don't think it is the same league. His favorability ratings weren't nearly as high and tbh I don't think he had the charisma to ever achieve the presidency anyways.

That's true. DeSantis had a good thing going. If he just kept his mouth shut and had a friendly rivalry with Trump, he might have had a good chance of winning something.
