Yep! I tried to run for an elected local position (library board member) in a town of 15k back in 2002. They kept losing my paperwork until it was too late to get on the ballot. Getting elected locally is just as difficult as anything else.

In my town we kicked out two members of the council and half the school board.

There are other things we can do, such as teaching our children sound ethics, proper debating skills, and the Judeo-Christian principles on which the Founders based their thinking, but those are the subjects of other articles.
