Republican Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt on Monday signed into law a bill banning sex changes surgeries and cross sex hormones in the state.
Under Senate Bill 613, doctors could lose their license to operate and be guilty of a felony if they “knowingly provide gender transition procedures to any child.” The bill passed 73 to 18 in the House and 37 to 8 in the Senate. Parents can sue doctors on behalf of their children, and individuals who received sex changes as children can sue any time before their 45th birthday.
