I think they would be anxious to get an ace into position to finish Obummer's 3rd term and be in position for his 4th. Team Biden/Harris have a shitstorm ahead of them, serious negative equity for the (((DS))). Maybe Old Joe is removed, Kamala takes POTUS, Rice is named as VPOTUS. First Female "Black" POTUS and VPOTUS in American history! blah blah blah. I could see the Dems pushing that narrative, though neither is black. Sounds exactly like a Dem ClownWorld fact.

I think they realized how bad Harris actually is - although how they missed it during the debates is beyond me - and were forced to keep propping him up this long. Sliding Rice in now would only work if they can sell the 'Harris departing on her own terms' lie well enough.
The UniParty seems perfectly happy to make Biden's term last as long as possible. Nary a peep of impeachment nor demands for a mental health evaluation.

When there is a normal presidential procession after a POTUS is removed, VP becomes POTUS, Speaker becomes VP, right? How will the Dems intercede so Kevin McCarthy doesn't become VP?
The Speaker only becomes President if both the President and Vice President are unable to serve. If a President resigns the VP takes over and they pick their new VP, who would need to be approved by the Senate.
