Texas state representative Bryan Slaton introduced a bill, on the 187th anniversary of the fall of the Alamo, to allow Texans to vote on seceding from the United States. Yes, secession, as in the pre–Civil War abandonment. Slayton said in a tweet, "After decades of continuous abuse of our rights and liberties by the federal government, it is time to let the people of Texas make their voices heard." In fact, history teaches us that there are a few ways that this movement may be successful even without secession.

I hope they are able to pull it off, but I don't think it'll be allowed to happen.

I don't think it will happen in the near term but as things like sanctuary states/counties for the 2A heat up, and even things like the Texas Suppressor Bill go forward, we could see more serious interest in secession grow over time. I think if anywhere could gain enough public support behind it it's in Texas. Even just spreading awareness that the Civil War narrative is a lie helps, not everyone dismisses the idea outright.

I like how the left is all pissed off that people are leaving the states because of taxes and regulations. Hey! You can't do that! We need your tax dollars to buy votes from niggers with handouts!
