Hawley is a sharp guy. There has to be much more to it than wasting his time turning it back on them for insignificant theater while he's in a target rich environment. I'll be very disappointed in him otherwise.

It's only been ~36hrs. If a week or so goes by and the TN shooting heads for the memory hole without announcement of a house investigation, into it yes.
