Jesus told his followers they must become like children. The traditional interpretation of this is that children are trusting, so you need to be trusting. This isn't true, though. Children range from high trust all the way down to no trust at all as a result of being severely neglected and abused. People say that children believe in stupid stuff like Santa Claus, so we should emulate that. Children believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, etc., because they are idiots to put it crudely. It's just the way they are as this article states. By the way when Jesus said to become like children, he meant that you need to start over from nothing and relearn everything.
