There's no way the leftists are going to let this happen. They want to control peoples lives and don't respect the rule of law one bit. They also can't let this happen because it will quickly turn into all parts of the state except portland leaving. Hard core liberals of a few years ago are now considered right wing nazis if they kept their beliefs the same. This is only accelerating.

Same like California, dems need all those 55 CA electoral votes in the bag before the election campaign even begins. They won't give up CA. OR has 7 electoral votes,
I wonder if instead of dividing a state boundary they might get a proportional electoral state vote system going if that might be an easier path to sanity, instead of awarding all electoral votes to the majority party? Dems would fight that just as hard tho.

States don't have rights Lincoln made sure of that. This won't happen, if it did it would start a trend everywhere that will upset decades of electoral fuckery.

I believe both state legislatures have to approve it so it's doubtful. But if the legislators from the east decide to just fuck everything up in the state capitol (filibustering everything, refusing to show for quorum, disrupting precedings) it might have a chance. They just have elect some people with balls.

Both states could agree to it, the feds will take it to the courts, and if that doesn't work they will just kill everyone.
