Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis visited New York City on Monday to attend a discussion on law enforcement and recruit police officers tired of the Big Apple's progressive policies.

DeSantis, widely considered a likely contender for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, appeared at a Staten Island event hosted by the New York State Fraternal Order of Police.

That's a beautiful, political balls across the nose to New York, but would you really want those guys after being soiled by that department? I would expect home grown to serve much better.

I dunno, if someone offered me a better job with a warmer climate, lower chance of on duty death, etc I think you might get a few very appreciative officers who will also cast ballots.
