This move by DeSantis was long overdue. Even if Disney hadn't acted like a bunch of leftwing assholes, it should have happened.

From my understanding Disney had “sovereign” land. Who knows why but because of this they don’t receive any government services (police, fire, ems etc) because desantis took this away, now the government will provide these services. Saving Disney a ton of $$.

No.
They had massive tax remittances due to their tax exemption status. Losing that alone will cost them a ton (probably billions). And in any case, Disney will have to continue providing it's own personnel and security staff in most situations. It's a lot more than just losing self-governing status as a municipality.

I expect this was part of the benefits Orange county or the state of Florida offered to entice Disney to select the location. The fact Disney owns land in a neighboring county may have been a strategic play to play one against the other with tax exemptions, or other perks.
