NYSRPA v Bruen raped any chance of this type of ban lasting very long. Lower courts are now forced to apply strict scrutiny and even shitlib judges are having a hard time wiggling out of it.
The entire gun control farce has long been propped up by "government opinion on public good" tests being applied above the language of the Constitution and that's gone now. Judges that still try to do it get rekt on appeal.
Honestly I hope they try to do more because the more they try the worse the precedent gets for them with subsequent decisions. There are already cases that would simply abolish the NFA, for instance, if the strict scrutiny tests are correctly applied. Love to see it.

What’s interesting is that the left’s critique of the war on drugs is based on the exact same principles that we use to argue against gun control, with the exception of the fact that it’s actually a right codified into our constitutional amendments…and somehow, this truth escapes them…
-making it illegal doesn’t stop it from happening
-it just creates a black market for it
-it turns ordinary people into sudden criminals
-it needlessly fills our prisons
Somehow those logical conclusions disappear when the subject is guns instead of drugs..
