Knee-jerk response: Oswald was a patsy, but he intended to kill JFK. His handler made sure that Oswald had rounds that would not fire. They needed Oswald there with the rifle in order to pin it on him. I do not think Oswald was capable of that level of markmanship. Oswald probably began seeing the truth of things when he was stood up at the theater. They killed him before he could add it up and spill the beans.
