There could never have been anything like a fair and equitable January 6th trial, for the simple reason that there were no grounds of any kind on which to base such a trial. It was a bogus farce from start to end. Pelosi had no intention of ever allowing Trump or the Republicans to say a single word in their defense, because she knew her "trial" was nothing other than a partisan obscenity.
