Shasta County is a very, very nice place. Not a lot of money up there, but it's beautiful, peaceful, and the residents are refreshingly nice. It's sad that so much of the rest of California has such terrible residents. If you ever get the chance, go check out Redding, and walk across their awesome pedestrian bridge. (There's other cool stuff up there as well.)
