Note that they don't have Trump saying this. A "Trump insider" says that Trump said it. We don't know what Trump said, if he said it directly or merely alluded to it, or even if he said it at all. It's hearsay from an "anonymous source." In fact, it's two levels of hearsay since it's the media saying what a Trump insider is saying what Trump is saying.
