Texas can absolutely economically support itself. As to the second point, the only way to secure the border AND mass deport shitskin illegals is by secession.
As to whether this is only pushed by (((RINOs))), not at all, pretty much anyone who loves Texas wants it to be independent and not have to go along with the disastrous, jew-owned policies of the federal government. Secession is not even remotely a fringe opinion here. That's why it's been on multiple public referendums and is openly and enthusiastically discussed by Texas residents.
Being able to unapologetically enforce the border, including the borders with other states, is a popular position.
