The essential problem here is the government wants to disarm people for reasons we know and the left is merely NPCs who spew whatever they are told. There is no reasoning with these people They can not rationally argue their points and have no desire to argue. They want to take all your rights away and make you a slave to the state and subject to whatever the State wants to do to you, for your own good.
